Easter, Marketing and WebAR
The major shift in global retail product marketing revolves around few big events round the year and Easter is undoubtedly one of the top charted event. The Easter bunny has a feel good psychological vibe to encourage people to shop more.
If you want to sell your WebAR service to retail advertising and marketing agencies, this is the high time. Ideally, contact your potential customers around a couple of months ago to kickstart such campaign projects.
With WebAR, you can create and deliver a creative idea to market faster than anything. But from a marketer point of view, to launch a successful campaign, you need to focus on few things:
Quality of 3D: Of course, the heart of any WebAR campaign lies with it. Make sure, the 3D model is low poly (to retain better texture but load faster due to smaller size), high res (audience would love to see the minute details), glb file (gltf 2.0 makes it compact inside a single lightweight file). If animated, make it clean and crisp.
Landing Page: This is where all AR users will land first. So putting some attention will make the overall experience better anyway. Both desktop & mobile users can play with 3D model (without AR) on the landing page (provided it's a world tracking AR). Using customer brand aligned color tone, UI/UX design, adding links and buttons for necessary purchase/rediection will make it more professional.
Integration: With an array of possibilities on where the WebAR campaign can be integrated (digital or print media), a good preparation can make your customer's life easy (as well as the end users will love it to). For digital integration, prepare iframe/product card/embedding settings. For print integration, prepare QR code with branded logo, color etc. to make it look professional.
Finally, you may feel a little anxiety if the customer comes at the very end moment (which most of them often do) and looking for a quick delivery of AR experiences. You may feel worried looking at the calendar because 3D model creation takes time and less time will not always bring the best professional outputs (but it's always the most crucial part – isn't it)?
Let me share a life saving tip here (consider this a Easter gift from me )
You can capture 3D of your surroundings simply with a smartphone and here's a list of apps to do so. They are available in both iOS and Android:
1. Luma.ai – NeRF scan
2. Qlone – object scan
3. ARPlan 3D – floor and room scan
4. Volograms – human body scan
5. Polycam – object scan
6. Canvas – floor and room scan
7. Capture 3D – object scan
8. EM3D – face scan
9. 3D Scanner App – need LIDAR enables phone
10.ItSeez3D – Only for iOS
Apple LIDAR scanning is a super good alternative to produce 3D assets. Unfortunately there is none such feature for Android world until now.
Nevertheless, now you know how to create an impact with your WebAR expertise. Go and start taking action to monetize from it.
