Marvin XR turns one product photo into a 3D model and adds a View in your space button to your BigCommerce product pages. Shoppers rotate the product and place it in their room at true scale, in the phone browser, with nothing to install.

Installation guide
- Open the BigCommerce App Marketplace from your control panel and search for Marvin XR 3D & AR.
- Press Install and approve the permissions. Marvin XR asks for three: read your products, manage Script Manager scripts, and read your store information. Nothing else.
- The app opens straight onto your product list. There is nothing to configure and no account to create — a Marvin XR account is linked to your store during the install.
- Your store starts on the Free tier, which includes one 3D model so you can see it working on a real product before choosing a plan.
If the install finishes but the app shows an error, it is almost always a browser blocking third-party content in the control panel frame. Reload the page once; if it persists, email us and tell us which browser.
User guide
Making a 3D model
- Open Apps → Marvin XR in your control panel.
- Find a product in the list and press Generate 3D. The product needs a photo — there is nothing to build a model from without one.
- Generation takes about a minute. The row updates by itself; you can leave the page and come back.
- When the row reads Ready to publish, press Publish.
Which photos work best. One product, filling most of the frame, on a plain background, lit evenly, photographed slightly above eye level. A photo with two products in it, a heavy shadow, or a busy room behind it gives a worse model — the same rules as a good catalogue shot.
Publishing and removing
Publishing puts the View in your space button on that product’s page. Remove takes it off again and leaves the 3D model in your account, so you can put it back without generating it a second time.
The storefront button
Marvin XR installs a small script through BigCommerce’s own Script Manager. It never edits your theme, and it appears only on product pages that have a published 3D model. Uninstalling the app removes the script with it.
If the button does not appear on a heavily customised theme, email us — the script looks for the add-to-cart area and will not guess if it cannot find it, because a button in the wrong place is worse than none.
What a shopper sees
On a phone, the button opens the product at true size through the phone’s own camera — no app to download, on iOS and Android alike. On a desktop it opens a 3D viewer they can rotate and zoom. The viewer page is hosted by Marvin XR, so nothing heavy runs in your store.
Multiple users
The store owner can grant other staff access to Marvin XR from the BigCommerce control panel. Access is tied to the store, not to one person’s email address, so it survives a change of owner. Removing a user’s access in BigCommerce removes it here on their next request.
Plans and billing
Marvin XR is billed through BigCommerce Unified Billing. Your plan appears on your normal BigCommerce invoice — we never hold your card.
| Plan | Per month | New 3D models |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1, once |
| Launch | $59 | 10 a month |
| Growth | $179 | 40 a month |
| Scale | $399 | Unmetered, fair use 500 a month |
Annual billing is ten months’ money for twelve months of service. Choose or change a plan in the app, under Plan; BigCommerce’s own checkout opens to confirm it.
Cancelling. Cancel in the app at any time. The plan runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and 3D models and AR pages you have already published keep working — only generating the next model needs allowance.
Your data, and uninstalling
Marvin XR reads your product list and the product photos you choose to build a model from. It does not read orders, customers, or payment information, and it never asks for those permissions.
Uninstalling the app from your control panel removes the Script Manager script, deletes every 3D model and AR page we hold for your store, and deletes the linked Marvin XR account. Nothing is kept for later.
