AR based instruction manuals – go paperless, go green
Using the IEC 82079-1 standard, the European Union has built its own regulation when it comes to translating manuals. In the EU it is mandatory to provide instruction manuals in the local languages of the users. If there is more than one official language in an EU country, all these languages need to be in the manual. Such regulations increases the volume of printed materials, coming with each product.
Instead, if a QR code is attached to the product, users can simply scan it and open a WebAR based instruction manual. They can select their own language (thus manufacturers can add as many as languages without worrying about increased cost) and launch animated or interactive instruction manuals which can be 100x more efficient than text based instructions. Moreover, users can replay such instructions in the future without any need to keep a physical storage of such paper based manuals.
Offer WebAR manuals to partner with retail chain
This is your chance to build a passive source of income in six figures over time. Partner with manufacturing brands and build a WebAR based instruction manuals for their products. Of course, initially both type of manuals would be available to the users to get a habit of using either. With time, gradually the manual printing part can be stopped, saving hundreds or even thousands of tonnes of papers per year.
At the same time, you have worked with the customer to build these AR experiences once and then the future business opportunity would be to maintain and support them. Millions of views of them around the world will provide you with a nice MRR revenue. In general, changes in instruction manuals are very rare. So, you can run such AR venture as a solopreuner or with limited partners, maximizing the profitability.
Pitch and begin such venture with one product manufacturer and then replicate the process with further prospects with good business cases. If you focus on a certain niche, the likelihood of growth will be faster. For example, you can focus on product manufaturer – electronics appliances – washing machine and dryer. It'd be easy to replicate your AR manual experience for future clients and handful of them would be sufficient for you reach a thriving six or seven figure business easily.
